Leon Sherman, Mayor
Born in Medford, Oregon, March 31, 1943. Raised on 40-acre farm in Sam’s Valley and attended the old red school for 8 years. Attended Crater High School in Central Point and graduated in 1961. Entered the Army September 15, 1961, and was discharged September 1, 1964, with tour of duty in Germany. Upon discharge from Army worked odd jobs until March 1965 and went to work for Jackson County Public Works. In July 1, 1967, was hired by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office and worked the jail, dispatch, patrol and detectives and served with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office until December 31, 1970. For the next 5 years he drove log truck for Steve Wilson Logging and for Bob Kimmel Trucking and resigned that activity on May 31, 1976. Married Edith on February 27, 1976, in Carson City, Nevada. Was hired by the Eagle Point Police Department as Patrol Sergeant on June 1, 1976, and on July 1, 1980, was hired as the Chief of Police, and held that position until retirement on December 31, 1997. Was elected to City Council and served from January 1999 through December 2003. Was elected as Mayor of the City of Eagle Point and took office January 2003. Children: Scott, Tracy and Deanna.
Alan Curriston , Council President
Originally from Twining, Michigan (population 189) I grew up loving small town life. Graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Computer Science I moved to Oregon in 1978, living in the Brownsboro area, five miles outside Eagle Point until 1997. Both sons went all the way through Eagle Point schools, now living in Corvallis and Fort Rucker, Alabama. I also have two stepsons in Portland and a stepdaughter in Medford with three grandchildren. My wife Kris and I enjoy walking the friendly neighborhoods of Eagle Point whenever we get a chance. I served 8 years on the School District Budget Committee and one four year term on the school Board. My term on City Council started in 2005 and I currently chair the Economic Development Commission. I work as a Senior Programmer Analyst at Asante Health System.

My husband, Burt, and I moved to Eagle Point from Costa Mesa, CA in 2001. We have a son and two beautiful grandchildren in Portland and a daughter in Woodland Hills, CA. Born in Michigan in 1943 I was raised on farms and learned to love the outdoors. After graduating from California State University at Fullerton I worked in the insurance business. After arriving in Eagle Point I volunteered at the High School, Junior High and later served on the Parks Commission before being elected to the City Council. I am a member of the Eagle Point Women's Club, Boosters Club and the Community Association.

Born in California, I have been a Rogue Valley Resident for 20 years. I have three children: Ryan, age 25, Chelsi, age 25 and Holly, age 23. I have been the Managing Partner of Progressive Audio cellular for the past 13 years and have been in electronic sales for 25 years. Before being elected to the Eagle Point Council I was Chairman of the Eagle Point Planning Commission. I love sports and high performance automobiles.
